The BU Nano Heat Transfer Lab I volunteered at needed a new cryostat to test samples under low pressure and temperature conditions.

The cryostat had to fit the experimental apparatus adn the sample had to fit inside it. It also had to be airtight, and had to withstand temperature fluctuations. I designed the chamber using PTC Creo and went through multiple iterations to come to the final design. I built the cryostat with aluminum using manual mills, drills, taps and CNC mills.
